NHS community service provider drives forward goal to be leader in digital care
Independent NHS community service provider, Locala Community Partnerships CIC, is accelerating its digital transformation programme so more than 1,000 clinicians can provide the best possible patient experience. It has selected Advanced to deliver the project and hopes the partnership will bring Locala another step closer to becoming a leader in the delivery of digital care.
The contract will see Advanced provide full IT outsourcing, managing all business-critical services, from desktop to datacentre, including 24x7 hosted infrastructure management on dedicated infrastructure, with backup and disaster recovery services. It will also include a modernisation programme consisting of a migration of its infrastructure to Advanced’s Private Cloud Platform as a Service (PaaS) platform. Advanced will provide consultancy throughout Locala’s digital transformation programme.
Locala provides a range of NHS community care and support services within the home and in clinics, schools and health centres across Kirklees, Calderdale and Bradford, delivered by a team of health visitors, district nurses, therapists and other specialist healthcare professionals. The digital project will support 1,500 users, 1,200 of which are mobile workers delivering services to patients. Providing a consistently reliable technology experience is therefore vital to the success of the transformation programme.
Judy Threlfall-Sykes, Head of Digital and Transformation at Locala, explains: “Improving the patient experience is at the heart of our work and this requires our clinicians to be reliably connected at every step. Immediate yet secure access to the right clinical care records, at the point of patient care, shapes our service – just as linking clinicians to their team leaders for second opinion enhances positive outcomes. We needed a strategic IT partner who could understand the success of the smaller transformation projects, as well as support our bigger future ideas. Advanced demonstrated this flexibility, while balancing innovation with the need to address the challenges that care providers face today.
“Having a trusted partnership with Advanced will be instrumental in our future success. Knowing we have a partner that we can rely on is invaluable, especially in the care sector, and even more so in managing secure, hosted environments and transformative projects. Success will be winning back time allowing me to focus on making those exciting long-term plans become a reality.”
“Locala is ready to step up its use of digital technology and we’re proud to be supporting it in helping its clinicians deliver outstanding standards in patient care. It is a great example of how digital can help an organisation to reshape and innovate. Together we’ll be creating a transformation project that truly unlocks the value of an agile and mobile workforce for positive impact.”
