Manufactured items

If the ‘Manufactured’ box has been ticked on the Stock and Order Item General Details click on the Manufacturing tab and complete the following:

  • Components – click ‘new component item’ and select, or edit existing item(s) and quantities, so that you have a list of all the components and their quantities which make up this manufactured item; this is essentially a recipe for making this item, often referred to as a ‘bill of materials’, and this is used in the requirements calculation to generated planned works and purchase orders
  • Process Routings – click ‘new process routing’ and select, or edit existing resources and times, so that you have a list of all the operations/ resources used to convert the above component items into a batch quantity of this manufactured item, and estimated time taken on each; these estimates are used in allocating capacity in the resource scheduling
  • Costs – you can enter the material, sub-contract, and labour, cost at which this item will be valued in stock, or else tick the Use Calculated Cost? box to use the unit costs calculated by the application and shown on this screen
