Using stock locations

The system default is one Stock Location, but the application allows the creation of an unlimited number of stock locations. This means that locations can be assigned to separate warehouses, aisles, racks, shelves; or alternatively for quarantine areas and a wide range of other purposes.

To create a new Stock Location, navigate to Stock & Order Items > Stock Locations and click “New”. The system will simply ask for a name for the Stock Location, which can be either a description i.e. “Warehouse #2” or a more specific alpha-numeric code for an individual rack, or aisle.

Stock Locations can be used across the system, when receiving goods, completing works orders, picking & dispatching stock or even returning items into stock. The system will maintain an independent stock record for each location, based on the receipts and dispatches of stock over time.

The system also allows for Stock Movements, which are used for warehousing or manufacturing operations for bulk movements of stock, or for quarantine of Stock Items. This is accesses via Stock & Order Items > Stock Movements.
