Hortech selects Business Cloud Essentials

by Amanda Grant, Chief Product Officer

The Cambridgeshire based Advanced TruePartner, Kamarin Computers will support the British irrigation company’s move to the Cloud

British irrigation company Hortech Systems Ltd, based in Lincolnshire, has chosen Business Cloud Essentials*, a cloud-based integrated business management suite delivered by Kamarin Computers, to support its move to the Cloud. Kamarin Computers, an Advanced TruePartner, will work with the Hortech team to provide the training and support required to achieve the ambitions of its digital transformation journey. Hortech has been a loyal customer of Kamarin Computers since 1994 and was delighted to hear about what Business Cloud Essentials from Advanced could offer.

Designed specifically for smaller companies who are under increasing pressure to digitally transform, Business Cloud Essentials will ensure Hortech Systems is well positioned to improve the production process of their irrigation systems thanks to its ‘kitting functionality’ which has removed the need for spreadsheets – which Hortech had become reliant upon meaning their production process had become very inefficient causing delays and stress.

Hortech can now use the end to end functionality of Business Cloud Essentials to keep all information in one system providing much greater visibility right across the business. Everything from handling stock to the management of inventory to coping with internet sales from eBay and eCommerce sites is all available within Business Cloud Essentials. Hortech can benefit by using the service desk functionality, where the entire customer journey is kept within one system, from quote and order to system production, delivery and eventually into post-sale maintenance and support.

With live processing of hours and stock consumed on installations and service work, the business is able to make proactive smarter business decisions when it comes to its pricing strategy for example, rather than having to wait and retrospectively analyse costs and margin.

Kamarin Computers will help the firm unlock the full capabilities and breadth of functionality that the solution offers with clear enhanced visibility to access key data across the business. In particular, their field-based sales engineers will be able to access the solution on any device giving the team visibility wherever they are.

Hortech has over three decades of experience providing expert services and top-quality water irrigation products. With their motto being ‘Tomorrow’s Technology Today’, Business Cloud Essentials mirrors that and reflects their forward-thinking attitude and dedication to remaining at the cutting edge of the irrigation equipment industry.

Wayne Seaman, Managing Director at Hortech, commented: “We wanted a system for the future, and we felt like the investments Advanced were making in their software through regular enhancements and updates would fulfil this. The automated updates meant that we would benefit instantly from new functionality as it was released, rather than challenged with the usual costs and resources associated with traditional on-premise software”.

“To fully embrace the opportunity the Cloud presents, we needed a locally based, certified partner who we could trust to ensure we were maximising our investment in our digital transformation. Kamarin Computers showed themselves to be incredibly committed to developing a close partnership with us, one that would move us into a new era of digital competitiveness.”

“Business Cloud Essentials is the perfect solution to replace our aging system and it meets all of our requirements. We are looking forward to the solution improving our business efficiencies and the ability to access the system anytime, anywhere.”

Kamarin Computers is an award-winning provider of business IT and software solutions offering their customers a range of the best market-leading products and services including IT solutions, cyber security and Business Software.

George Smith, Managing Director at Kamarin Computers, concluded: “Hortech Systems has a clear vision for its future, which is harnessing the power of digital and in particular, the Cloud. The Business Cloud Essentials solution will allow it to truly embrace the Cloud and be ready to adapt to future challenges, which is critical given the level of uncertainty that businesses are currently facing. We are incredibly excited to continue growing this new partnership with Hortech, while exploring new chapters and accomplishing new achievements with them.”

Business Cloud Essentials from Advanced is designed specifically to help British manufacturers drive productivity, grow and prosper by maximising the opportunities of the fourth industrial revolution.
