Direct Express Logistics looks to Advanced to deliver a Finance platform to accelerate its ambitious growth plans

Advanced welcome UK Courier and Distribution firm Direct Express Logistics (DEXL) onto their Cloud based financial management platform, Advanced Financials, moving away from its predecessor Sage.

Over the past two years DEXL have grown at pace, both organically and through acquisitions which led to them outgrowing their existing accounting solution and looking for a new platform which could support their business, now and in the future.

Sarah Newborn, Finance Director at Direct Express Logistics explained: ‘Our previous solution had various shortcomings for us. Our growth meant that all our companies were being held separately within the system and it was really difficult for us to compare them, this made it confusing for the finance team to get a clear view of business performance. In addition we never got direct communications or any specific help with how to use the product which left us feeling frustrated.’

DEXL now have multiple sites across the country and knew moving to the Cloud was critical for the finance team to be able to access the system remotely. When looking at options in the market, Advanced Financials stood out as a clear front runner. Sarah told us, ‘We did have a look at Sage Intacct, but the system seemed US focussed and we wanted a system built for the UK market. We found Advanced and from the outset it became clear that Advanced Financials was a really good fit for us as a business. Many of the other vendor solutions in the market seem to be designed for enterprise organisations and have a hefty price tag that was far too much for us, we felt Advanced Financials has the perfect balance between rich functionality and a system which we can continue to grow with over time.’
