Gordon Wilson

Gordon Wilson, CEO

Gordon is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Advanced. Having joined the company in September 2015, he brings extensive experience in the software industry from which to continue to drive Advanced’s impressive growth trajectory. Gordon is leading Advanced’s ambitious transformation process which includes a four pillar process of reorganisation, rebranding, relocation and restructuring.

With over 20 years’ General Management experience in the software and business support sectors, Gordon’s former roles include serving as Managing Director at Kerridge Automotive Systems, ADP Dealer Services and leading Aquila Heywood, the UK’s largest provider of pension and policy administration software and services.

Alex Arundale

Alex Arundale, HR Director

Alex Arundale is Group HR Director at Advanced, having joined the company in February 2016. She is responsible for leading the company’s talent management and development initiatives, from recruitment through to retention.

Alex has already made a huge impact, introducing innovative new people-focused strategies including attraction strategies which actively avoids unconscious bias and was one of the first to famously ‘throw CVs out of the window’ in the recruitment process. Prior to Advanced, Alex has held a number of HR positions, most recently as Director of HR Operations at CDK International and HR Director at APD Dealer Services.

Andrew Hicks

Andrew Hicks, CFO

Andrew Hicks is the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Advanced, having joined the company in December 2015. He is responsible for leading the Group’s strategic and operational finance, legal and HR departments. He also drives strategic organic and inorganic initiatives across the group.

Andrew brings 15 years’ experience in the software sector, serving in senior finance roles in public and private equity backed firms both in the UK and USA. Most recently, he was CFO of Kewill, a global leader in multi-modal transportation software solutions, which he helped transition from a public company to private ownership. Prior to that, he worked for a number of Vista portfolio companies including Advanced’s sister company, financial services software provider Misys, and as CFO of Vista’s P2 Energy Solutions.

Sally Scott

Sally Scott, CMO

Sally Scott is Chief Marketing Officer at Advanced, having been promoted to the role in December 2015. She had previously been marketing director of its Business Solutions division, delivering a breadth of back office and specialist CRM solutions to the mid and enterprise market. Sally is now responsible for aligning the company’s marketing initiatives and brand awareness to its ambitious growth plans.

Sally is passionate about ensuring that marketing makes a real and measurable contribution to sales revenue and is responsible for delivering the company’s integrated new brand, launched in April 2016 as part of the company’s transformation process. Sally brings over 15 years of senior marketing experience to Advanced. Prior to Advanced, she was head of marketing at UNIT 4.

Jon Wrennall

Jon Wrennall, CTO

Jon is Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Advanced having joined in January 2016. It is his responsibility to drive innovation and quality in the development of its suite of software solutions and services to make a difference to Advanced’s 20,000 customers.

A renowned thought leader in the technology sector, Jon has over 20 years’ experience in the industry. He spent the last five years as CTO of Fujitsu UK and Ireland, overseeing 1,200 architects and driving change across all areas of the business. Prior to moving to Fujitsu, Wrennall served as Chief Information Officer, Transformation Director and SIRO at the Valuation Office Agency (VOA), and served as Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs’ first Chief Technology Officer, leading the integration of the former Inland Revenue and Customs & Excise organisations.

Roy Wood, CSO

Roy Wood, CSO

Roy is the Chief Sales Officer (CSO) at Advanced with responsibility for sales execution and strategy. Roy divides his time integrating new acquisitions and ensuring the Sales team deliver a world-class client experience to our customers.

Promoted into the role in February 2018 Roy has led the largest transformational change of this function in Advanced’s history. The change has resulted in the Sales team being better aligned with product and marketing to deliver on the company's’ ambitious growth plans.

Roy has been with Advanced since graduating from Exeter University in 2000. He was one of the co-founders of the Managed Service business in 2005 and has been key to Advanced’s growth over the last 18 years carrying out various senior leadership roles across sales, marketing and product. Prior to his current role, Roy was the Managing Director for the IT Services division.

Mark Dewell

Mark Dewell

Public, Private & Third Sector

Mark qualified with BA Literature and MSc Computing for Business and joined his first software company quickly progressing to leadership roles in the UK and Australia. He moved to Iris Software in 2008, taking up the role of Managing Director of the Ticketing business, and joined Advanced in 2013 when Iris divested the CSH part of its portfolio.

Since that time Mark has held senior leadership roles across various divisions acquiring an extensive level of strategic expertise and driving growth and results for both customers and the business.

As Managing Director of the Public, Private and Third sector software division he leads a team that delivers connected technology and digital transformation to private, third and public sector organisations helping them revolutionise the way they deliver services whilst achieving significant operational efficiencies.

Doug Hargrove

Education & Legal

Doug is the Managing Director for Legal and Education based in the Knutsford office. He is focused on creating industry leading technology solutions which transform the ways these industries serve their clients and in creating best in class services to support these solutions.

Prior to joining Advanced in 2013 via acquisition, Doug was Managing Director of Iris Legal for three years, the UK’s market leading provider of enterprise and business application software to solicitors and barristers. In October 2018 he added the Education Division to his portfolio of responsibilities, with an additional annual £20m turnover.

Doug has over 20 years executive management experience in private equity backed and publicly traded software companies across the UK, Europe and Globally and prior to this he had 10 years senior IT and operational Management experience in FMCG Retail. His executive level responsibilities include strategy, market and product development, operational management, mergers and acquisitions and sales optimisation.

Doug is a regular industry contributor to the media on legal technology and the future effects of emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning and more recently on the future technology trends within the Education sector.

Ric Thompson

Health & Care

Ric joined Advanced in July 2018 following the British software and services provider’s acquisition of Docman to further accelerate its cloud-first strategy.

Ric is an experienced business leader underpinned by over 19 years of board level experience working across the UK public sector, including the NHS, Local Government and Education. He has led a number of technology businesses delivering innovative solutions across the public sector.

The latter part of Ric’s career has been working exclusively within the NHS sector where, through his entrepreneurial approach to business, he successfully positioned Docman as the market leader within its field. Ric is passionate about the NHS and feels privileged to have the opportunity to play a part in its success.
