Advanced are thrilled to announce that Thames Hospice is the first hospice to choose Docman Connect to digitise their transfer of clinical correspondence.
Thames Hospice is a charity providing expert care for people living with life-limiting illnesses in East Berkshire and South Buckinghamshire. It is necessary to send correspondence to GPs in cases such as the patient moving to a care home.
Docman Connect provides a cross-organisational platform to manage millions of documents exchanged each day between providers. In a bid to reduce costs, the project will see approximately 3,000 documents concerning 5,000 patients now being digital. This will replace the hospice’s current method of post, fax and email.
Jacquie Batchford, Director of Patient and Family Services, Thames Hospice, said: “Our GP community and local hospitals already use Docman Connect so it was a natural choice for us. We are confident the Connect solution will facilitate more efficient communications between us and our local health care providers as well as cost savings.”
The efficiencies that the solution offers will free up funds to be reallocated for use where they belong, on patient care. Therefore, eliminating the financial burden that their current paper processes present.
