Private GP provider use Docman Connect to improve patient care

by Ric Thompson, SVP - Health & Care

Advanced has partnered with the The Doctors Clinic Group (DCG), the UK’s largest private GP and healthcare services provider. DCG will be using Docman Connect to improve continuity of patient care, reduce paper trails and enable record sharing between the NHS and private GPs.

Docman Connect is an established electronic transfer of care solution, which enables electronic clinical documents to be sent securely between different health and care services. DCG will replace their existing paper based system with Docman Connect to streamline the process of sharing consenting patients’ records with their registered NHS GP.

Dr Daniel Fenton, Medical Director at The Doctors Clinic Group, said “The Doctors Clinic Group is committed to providing continuity of care to our patients, whether they are seen by us or their NHS GP. We chose to partner with Advanced to ensure patient records are passed back to their NHS GPs securely, and it was important for us to use a system that met our needs, is easy to use and is widely used by NHS GPs across the country.  We are delighted our efforts have been acknowledged by the CQC when auditing our clinics and that they have recognised our commitment to delivering outstanding care for patients.”

Ric Thompson, Managing Director of Health and Care at Advanced, concludes: “We’re delighted to be supporting DCG who are improving the continuity of patient care by managing clinical documents electronically. Docman Connect provides full visibility of the document journey, which provides reassurance to our customers and their patients, that correspondence will continue to be shared safely and efficiently during this period of uncertainty.”

DCG offers same day video appointments with General Medical Council registered GPs and have a network of clinics in London plus Manchester and Birmingham. These clinics remain open during the COVID-19 pandemic to help patients who are unable to visit their local GP practice. They cover all areas of general practice including home blood and urine tests, prescriptions, medication delivery and referrals to many private consultants including imaging and scans. By using Docman Connect they can ensure consenting patients clinical documents are securely shared with their registered GP practice.
