Advanced Specialist Solution helps drive charity’s fundraising success

Advanced customer, Beating Bowel Cancer, has been shortlisted in the Fundraising Charity of the Year category at this year’s National Fundraising Awards following its fundraising success. The charity’s use of Donor Strategy, the fundraising Specialist Solution from Advanced, has helped contribute to its 50% increase in income by the effective management of donor data, including that managed remotely by its home-based community fundraising staff.

The award recognises the achievements of charities with under £5m total income. The Beating Bowel Cancer team has worked tirelessly over the past year to fulfil its ambitious fundraising plans to increase the charity’s income resulting in a 50% growth and raising £2.3m last year. Through the implementation of a focused fundraising strategy and exceptional teamwork across the whole organisation, the charity has gone on to achieve significant success.

By using the remote access functionality within Donor Strategy, the charity has been able to extend its network of home-based community fundraising staff who have contributed significantly to the charity’s annual income. Staff can now access the solution whilst out in the field, gaining insight into where engagement is happening with donors and where fundraising efforts are succeeding.

Gaining remote access has also helped the charity scale efforts and grow on a regional as well as national level. This has resulted in an increased community fundraising income of 25%.

Graham Kelly, Director of Fundraising at Beating Bowel Cancer, explains,

“We are delighted to be shortlisted for Fundraising Charity of the Year. Our strategy is built on Community and Events fundraising with an emphasis on digital communications. Our lifestyle campaign Decembeard- Real Men Grow Beards - is a good example of this.”

“Our Advanced Specialist Solution has played a crucial role here, by providing a better understanding of donors and how to engage with them digitally.  We have therefore been able to drive our fundraising strategy forward, resulting in a significant increase in our annual income.

This nomination reflects the hard work and commitment of our dedicated team both nationally and regionally and without them we would not have been able to achieve such significant results.”

Simon Fowler, Managing Director at Advanced (Specialist Solutions Division), says, “This is a fantastic achievement for Beating Bowel Cancer. By fully integrating fundraising and communications across the charity supported by Advanced’s technology, the team has been able to truly focus on its ambitions for growth and increased fundraising income.

Donor Strategy provides a single view of all of its data from fundraisers right through to patients and their families. We look forward to supporting the team at the National Fundraising Awards.”
