Partnership provides unified system linking careers guidance with student and college records

Compass Computer Consultants (Compass), a leading supplier of education software, today announces a strategic partnership with U-Explore, one of the country’s largest careers advice and guidance companies.

The partnership will give Compass’ customers seamless access to U-Explore’s career guidance search engine, also called U-Explore. Compass products ProMetrix, ProMonitor and ProPortal will seamlessly integrate with U-Explore, enabling activities and resources to be accessed from a single login.

U-Explore is a learning platform that is licensed to schools and colleges across the country and enables students from Year 7 upwards to build a profile around their likes and interests. The platform creates a roadmap of the best way for students to achieve their career aspirations, i.e. through qualifications, work experience.

School and college staff use the solution to view students’ profiles and access resources to help them provide guidance to their pupils and can also run reports to prove to Ofsted that they are delivering effective careers guidance.

Students will use ProPortal alongside the U-Explore search engine to help set targets and build their aspirations data. Individual learning hours, student enrichment, employability and destination data entered in U-Explore, can be viewed by staff in ProMonitor, the student monitoring and support system.

The data from all these systems, alongside information from other college sources can then be viewed and reported on in ProMetrix, the solution for measuring College KPIs, helping to significantly improve visibility of students’ intended progression. Compass products are used in around 90 per cent of colleges across England. U-Explore is currently used in over 600 schools and many colleges.

Andy Makeham, Managing Director of Compass, said: “We recognised that U-Explore is the leader in providing a national careers and guidance software. Our partnership with them will ensure both students and staff benefit from a reliable, unified system that links careers guidance with student and college records.”

Andy Pickles, CEO of U-Explore, said:

“Compass is well-respected with a strong client base in the FE sector and shares our philosophy of working in partnership with customers. Compass products are already popular with many colleges and its seamless integration with U-Explore means we can further increase the efficiency and usability of the search engine.”
