Educating the next generation with Advanced

by Junaid Jawed, Senior Customer Advocacy Executive

Advanced is committed to making a difference, we are continually investing in the next generation of students through our diverse suite of software solutions. Education is a vital focus for us as we have designed a wide roster of solutions to streamline educational processes and to enable learners with greater visibility. Our products are a global leader in the creation of Educational Technology which improve English, Maths and digital skills. The solutions are focally designed to meet the GCSE and Functional Skills criteria, and have been used by thousands of education providers and millions of learners around the world. Education providers deal with numerous challenges ranging from a lack of interest from learners and an inability to track proof of progression.

It’s predicted in 2022 the upcoming trend to shake up EdTech will be: Personalised learning, gamification, and AI Learning. These three key trends appear to be driving growth, guaranteeing EdTech will stay in the business spotlight throughout the course of this decade.

Personalised Training

Matt Cole, senior vice president of global educational technology giant Promethean (PRW) told Forbes Magazine in December 2021 “Creating individual lesson plans and personalized learning has not always been as easy or as possible as it is now, there is so much more technology and access to digital content in the classroom”.

Personalised training will be a big focus for the educational technology sector, to ensure learners get a bespoke journey. Our bksb solution offers a dynamic and intelligent online assessment that uses complex algorithms to accurately recognise a learner’s current working level for English and maths. The Progress Checks evaluate a learner’s advancement at the end of a learning module, and the results link directly to their learning plan, and reports helping to personalise the learner experience.

Gamification

“Gamification is a powerful tool in education that can be harnessed to really inspire and motivate students”- Daniel Acutt, mentor and investor in Genius University

The idea of gamifying education to encourage engagement has reached peak-level attention, and is a major trend for businesses moving forward. In development for Functional skills training, after initial and diagnostic assessments, learners are signposted to relevant resources from their individual learning plan to work on skill gaps. Our digital skills learning resources provide engaging video content and exercises to improve skills and prepare for the Essential Digital Skills qualifications. Our online resources are not just text based, they are designed to really engage the user through various methods including assessments, videos and exam-style questions.

AI Learning

‘The future is the use of AI to build the intelligence infrastructure to radically reform the way we value our own human intelligence’ - Rose Luckin

As AI begins to revolutionise business and industry, it is also modifying the interactions between students, teachers, and even school administrations. AI modules being used in software can include automatic grading systems and AI teaching assistants that can be designed and programmed to answer simple questions for students. Our bksb Assessments utilise Artificial Intelligence, Item Response Theory and years of Big Data to provide unrivalled accuracy and resources written to the curriculum standards.
Advanced has invested in delivering AI solutions to our customers and recently introduced AVA, your Advanced Virtual Assistant. AVA can help your employees and HR team by taking care of your blockers, so you can spend your time getting on with making a difference to your people and your business.
