About Forsyths Group

Forsyths Group isn’t just another fabricator, it’s a fourth-generation family powerhouse that started with Alexander Forsyth’s coppersmithing apprenticeship in Speyside in the 1890s, purchased from Robert Willison in 1933, and evolved from A. Forsyth & Son into the global fabricator we know today.

From crafting copper stills for the whisky industry and introducing modern welding post-WWII under Ernest “Toot,” to expanding in the 1970s with Richard’s leadership, Forsyths has diversified into paper, pharmaceuticals, oil & gas, and exotic metals, yet never lost the tradition or the hammer.

Dealing with multi-site operations

The Forsyths Group was established in 1890, and today, we’re an international engineering, fabrication and construction company at the heart of Scottish industry. Having employees working across three different sites in Scotland presented us with a number of challenges. We realised that we needed to find a system that could produce real-time information to accurately track staff movements, and handle a number of shift patterns with constantly changing information.

OneAdvanced provided a solution that allows easy clocking-in at all of our sites. Time & Attendance makes it straightforward to keep accurate records of staff, hours worked and any changes in working times – improving the efficiency of our HR department. We were impressed by how quickly workers and management across the Forsyths Group took to the new solution, as well as how little training was required.

Ongoing expansion and development

Today, the Forsyths Group is continuing to grow and develop. We offer onshore and offshore products across a whole range of industries, including whisky and spirit distillation, paper production, petrochemicals, food and beverages, pharmaceuticals, fine chemicals, biotechnology, oil and gas, and power and utilities. 

We’ve continued to work with OneAdvanced as part of our expansion, and now have regular user group sessions that keep us up-to-date with software developments and help to identify further opportunities. As a result, we have also begun using OneAdvanced’s HR software alongside Time & Attendance to improve our efficiency and productivity.
