Clinicians can make faster and informed decisions

Behind every call to NHS 111 that goes through to GMUPCA, there’s a system quietly working behind the scenes: Clinical Patient Management. It ensures information flows instantly and securely to GMUPCA’s clinical team. With access to the patient’s journey, clinicians can make fast, informed decisions that could save lives. GMUPCA also uses this technology to protect patients in ways you might not expect. If a patient doesn’t attend their appointment, they receive a safeguarding follow-up - for example, if the absence is due to domestic violence, this information is passed back into the system, allowing GMUPCA to provide the support they need. Tim Davison, their Chief Operating Officer, said, “the unspoken history of people saves lives. We can safeguard a person, their families, and their children. The technology allows us to do that.”

All the information at a button click, improving efficiency and ultimately saving lives…

Tim explained that a major source of friction for GMUPCA was patients having to repeat their issues at every stage of their journey. This not only wasted patients' time but also valuable clinical time. With Clinical Patient Management, GMUPCA gained a direct booking terminal for all 111 referrals. All the necessary information is now available at the click of a button, streamlining operations, improving efficiency, and reducing unnecessary emergency department visits. As Dr. Michael Rooney said, "Keeping 87% of our 111 patients out of the emergency department is actually saving lives and we couldn't do it without OneAdvanced."

Our OneAdvanced AI Platform

To ensure safe and responsible AI adoption, Mastercall - a member of the GMUPCA, became one of the first customers of OneAdvanced AI. Concerned about the risks of unapproved tools, they partnered with OneAdvanced to implement a secure, private AI environment - empowering teams to innovate confidently while maintaining data privacy and compliance. With features like retrieval-augmented generation, AI assistants, and agentic AI, the solution boosts security and fosters a culture of trust and creativity. By choosing a private AI system, Mastercall and GMUPCA set a strong example in healthcare, prioritising both progress and protection.

GMUPCA, committed to bettering society

GMUPCA’s commitment to ESG is clear through its measurable social and environmental impact, underpinned by a strong governance framework. Recently rated “Mature” on the National TOMS Social Value Framework, Tim Davison, reflected on the journey. “We had to invest in highlighting individuals, innovation champions, carbon offsetting and reduction - but the pivotal moment was empowering our members to speak about the change they wanted to see: One planet. One life. One family.”

Their impact speaks volumes - from delivering free clinical support to homeless and refugee communities at The Wellspring, to funding over 2,000 nutritious meals for discharged patients facing food insecurity. Environmentally, they diverted 321 kg of waste from landfill and cut carbon emissions by over 9 tonnes through Community Computers, while donating 49 devices to fight digital exclusion. Additional projects include their Bee Friendly Initiative, Reupholstering Furniture, and a long-term goal to become Net Zero.

Their Good Governance Framework aligns with all CQC pillars, supported by dedicated committees to meet obligations, embed learning, and foster continuous improvement.

“One of the things that has made us successful is we offer an environment where our people feel like they’re doing something worthwhile.” — Dr. Michael Rooney, Mastercall
