Streamline workforce management with our new T2 clocking terminal

by Amanda Grant, Chief Product Officer

We know that efficiency is a key concern of businesses in 2024. Success is achieved by removing friction wherever possible, allowing you to dedicate human and material resources to what you do best: getting products to the people that need them.

Advanced can help you streamline how you gather and manage your workforce data, while simultaneously improving employee experience. Our T2 clocking terminal provides a contactless way for employees to enrol using facial recognition, fingerprint and proximity authentication.

Unlock ultimate accuracy and eliminate wasted time, all underpinned by maximum security.

How does it work?

The T2 terminals are hardy, easily wall-mountable devices with a full colour touch screen, that allows employees to enrol using fingerprint, facial and proximity identification. Workers can clock into their shift via quick scan, without having to worry about identity cards or fobs.

Managers will then have accurate information about when employees clocked on, and where, in real-time if needed. The T2 terminals fully integrate with our Time and Attendance software, where people planning and costing, rostering, absence management and annual leave are all managed.

Automated time tracking with the T2 terminals reduces physical admin and means that managers and HR teams have a crystal-clear view of employee working hours and time spent at specific sites. Incorrect workforce data is much less likely, as the T2 terminals simplify the clocking in process, reduce the risk of human error and make buddy clocking – where an employee asks another to clock onto their shift for them – impossible.

Why is accurate time recording so important?

Accurate time recording is vital for managers and HR teams to plan working schedules, allocate resource between sites and ensure safety and security of individuals while at work. It will also support them in adherence and compliance to legislation and reduces the risk of payroll errors.

With accurate time recording, you can monitor when employees are working overtime, and avoid the phenomenon of time theft, where employees falsify time worked.

How hardwearing is the T2 terminal?

With Teflon-coated hardware, 3mm physically and chemically toughened glass and a -10 to 40° C temperature range, the T2 terminal is built to withstand harsh environments.

Their jet-wash, bleach and dustproof capabilities mean it is easy to keep the terminals sterile without risk of damage. Additionally, the hardware is food prep and bio safe and used while wearing latex gloves. Integrate the terminals into the work environment with ease using its strong steel wall brackets and waterproof cabling. The T2 terminals are a vital piece in the puzzle when assembling a truly smart working environment.

What about privacy and security?

The Linux-based operating system is designed to work solely with the T2 terminals, making them secure by design. Both software and hardware has been rigorously tested by our team and external security professionals, meaning you can be safe in the knowledge that the system has been painstakingly assessed for and protected against cybersecurity threats.

Your employees’ biometric data is not stored, with the face and finger matching achieved by creation of a numerical template that is extremely hard to reverse. The T2 terminals also come with inbuilt disaster recovery in case of an on-site power failure, where devices can reboot safely and re-connect.

Invest in the T2 clocking terminal with Time and Attendance to revolutionise your workforce management. Offer your frontline employees a sleek, secure and practical way to enrol and your people managers a new world of accurate, real-time workforce data.
