Leading Scottish law firm chooses Advanced’s ALB Practice and Case Management Solution
Blackadders, one of the leading law firms in Scotland, has selected Advanced‘s ALB Practice and Case Management solution as its next generation technology platform. ALB will integrate and automate key processes throughout the firms five legal offices located across the country. The decision follows a period of sustained growth at Blackadders and the firm sees this digital innovation programme as integral to its ambitions to continue on that trajectory of growth and expansion.
ALB will be used by Blackadders’ 29 partners and over 235 staff members to drive efficiencies and transform the way information and processes are managed, providing fee earners with more time to deliver its renowned trusted, quality advice to clients. The firm currently has offices in Dundee, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen and Perth.
The decision followed a comprehensive review of the market. Blackadders chose Advanced for its ability to provide a single integrated view of all aspects of its firm from legal accounting, document management, client and matter management and time recording. Not only will this connected view provide competitive gain, from cross sell and customer management opportunities, it will drive productivity gains across the firm with its close integration with their other existing IT systems.
The fact that ALB is already used widely within the Scottish legal market provided a track record that was an important consideration for Blackadders. The firm sees the move to ALB as the next step in its digital evolution, so choosing a trusted software and services provider such as Advanced as its technology partner will also support its modernisation goals for the future.
Bob Murdach, Blackadders’ Chief Operating Officer, commented: “Advanced’s sector knowledge was critical in our decision making, and the functionality in its ALB solution ticked every box in what we were looking for from a technology provider. This new system will allow us to react quickly to client pressures and increase strength and depth of client service, whilst retaining our competitive edge by cross selling and prospect management with Advanced’s Legal Link and Microsoft Dynamics CRM system. The technology will also remove administrative burdens, freeing up our people to focus on the important tasks of managing clients.”
“Our investment in this next-generation software solution will form a key part of our business infrastructure. It will eradicate any problems from information silos by having one integrated system, which will help to underpin our position for continued, strategic growth.”
Doug Hargrove, Managing Director – Legal – Advanced, concluded: “We are delighted to have such a forward-thinking law firm see the value of placing our integrated technology approach at the heart of their firm, recognising it for its ability to provide a strong competitive edge. Blackadders is a renowned Scottish law firm and this new partnership builds on our strong reputation in Scotland, which has always been an important market for us. We look forward to supporting Blackadders on their ambitious business journey.”
