Bettering society: a year of giving back

Celebrating our journey of fundraising and community impact in 2025

2025 has been a remarkable year of growth, innovation, and transformation. Yet what truly inspired us were the moments when we came together to make a difference, reaching beyond ourselves and across borders. As we look back on the year, here is a glimpse of some of the many ways we’ve brought our Bettering Society ethos to life this year.

Going the extra mile together, changing lives along the way

We didn’t just talk about our Bettering Society ethos - we walked the talk. Quite literally, our colleagues took part in the Future Steps Challenge, walking an incredible 6,384,994 steps to raise funds for The King’s Trust.

The King’s Trust helps young people from disadvantaged backgrounds gain the skills and confidence to build better futures. This mission aligns with our ‘better for our people’ value, which is why we have proudly been patrons since 2017.

Continuing to live this commitment, our colleagues recently took on the Palace to Palace Challenge, raising funds as they cycled from Buckingham Palace to Windsor Castle in support of the Trust.

Following in these footsteps, our legal team joined the London Legal Walk to raise funds for the London Legal Support Trust. They completed 10 km through central London, supporting the Trust's vital work providing free access to legal advice services across London and the South East.

When courage meets compassion

From the ground to the skies, our colleagues embraced greater challenges, stepping up with courage for causes that matter.

Six of our brave colleagues took a bold leap, skydiving from 14,000 feet at Langar Airfield to raise funds for The Care Workers’ Charity. Driven by their passion for the care sector, they came together to raise awareness and honour the care workers who support our most vulnerable.

Victoria Newton-Cutler, Head of Fundraising at The Care Workers’ Charity, spoke about the difference the skydive made:

“OneAdvanced’s participation in The Care Workers’ Charity skydive earlier this year had a fantastic impact. Their team’s enthusiasm and fundraising efforts helped raise vital funds to provide emergency grants, mental health support, and wellbeing initiatives for care workers across the UK, while also raising awareness of the incredible dedication of those working in social care.”

Our ongoing support for The Care Workers’ Charity goes beyond annual financial contributions. Over the past three years, we have collaborated on webinars and UX/UI testing, among other initiatives, all helping to further their mission.

Continuing our adventurous streak, six of our colleagues descended 418 feet from the world’s tallest abseil tower in support of Hope In Every Life. Backed by St Andrew’s Healthcare, the charity brings hope to psychiatric patients and their families. We felt honoured to play a part in their mission, showing how collaboration can extend beyond business to create a positive impact on society.

With health and wellbeing at the heart, our teams continued to channel their energy into giving back. Our colleagues joined forces to take on Tough Mudder Yorkshire, tackling muddy obstacles to raise vital funds for Macmillan Cancer Support. Building on this momentum, others showed up for The Big Golf Race at Aston Wood Golf Club, helping raise funds for Prostate Cancer UK to support life-saving research and those affected by prostate cancer.

Building an inclusive society together

As part of our ongoing efforts to contribute to a more inclusive society, we partnered with Giftabled to host 47 beneficiaries with disabilities from India and provide mobility aids and assistive devices to help them live more independently. The programme also highlighted the allied services that support sustainable independence and helped beneficiaries find employment opportunities by registering them with a food delivery partner, enabling sustained self-reliance.

The experience left a lasting mark on all of us. Hearing their stories of perseverance and seeing the difference these aids made was a powerful reminder that even a single act of support can change lives.

We again witnessed this firsthand when we donated towards a large interactive tablet to Methodist Homes (MHA). It’s heartening to know residents can stay connected with loved ones, revisit cherished memories, and feel more engaged with the world around them.

Education is one of the most effective ways to create a fairer future. With this in mind, we teamed up with the Akshaya Patra Foundation, which provides mid-day meals to children in public schools across India, ensuring no child is deprived of education because of hunger. As part of this initiative, we have sponsored mid-day meal for 1,000 children for a full year.

Growing a sustainable future

Staying true to our net zero commitment and climate pledge, we rolled up our sleeves for a tree plantation drive with the Grow Billion Trees association. Together, our colleagues planted over 2,429 local saplings across Bengaluru and Vadodara. Each tree will contribute to restoring ecosystems, improving air quality, and providing habitats for wildlife, helping nurture a more sustainable future and bringing our ‘better for our planet’ value to life.

Continuing this journey, we joined our customer Irwin Mitchell for a volunteering day with the Peak District Preservation Society. Our team helped clear and expand waterways to reduce winter flooding and erosion, making a meaningful difference for the environment.

Giving back, your way

We believe giving back is most meaningful when it’s personal. That’s why we have a volunteering day off, so colleagues can choose how and where they want to contribute in a way that matters most to them. For Nathan Mzumara, our Head of SEO, it meant cycling 1,000km in 30 days to raise awareness for employee mental health and support Mind, a charity close to his heart that works across all aspects of mental health in business and society.

From personal efforts to team initiatives, our colleagues continue to give back in countless ways. As we look ahead to doing even more in the coming year, take a moment to reflect on the difference we’re making together.
