We are thrilled to annouce that we have acquired multi-award winning AI-healthcare innovator, Patchs Health Limited. This strategic move follows an exclusive partnership that accelerates the delivery of our next-generation healthcare platform.

Patchs Health has led AI innovation in primary care, developing intelligent triage, care navigation and ambient AI scribe technologies that operate seamlessly within clinicians’ flow of work. By capturing consultations in real time, translating patient interactions into structured clinical records, and automating documentation tasks, Patchs enables safer, more efficient care while reducing clinician workload. These capabilities are now embedded in 1,000 NHS GP practices, supporting more than 10 million patients nationwide.

This acquisition follows the purchase of the INPS Vision EPR system earlier this year. Together, they accelerate the delivery of our next-generation healthcare platform which will transform how healthcare services are delivered across the UK, forming the backbone of a neighbourhood digital front-door for patients, cutting waiting times, increasing patient care and creating much needed capacity at a time of unprecedented pressure on the NHS.

Patchs Health Limited was founded by a team of AI specialists from the University of Warwick, led by Dr Marcus Ong (CEO) and Dr Daniel Sprague (Chief Technology & Science Officer), with a mission to apply advanced AI and data science to real life operational challenges.

In 2019 they were joined by Dr Ben Brown, practising NHS GP and Clinical Senior Lecturer at The University of Manchester, whose insight into primary care needs shaped the company’s pivot from consultancy to a focused healthcare software provider.

Through the acquisition, we are able to add our own highly specialised capability in applied healthcare AI, combining PhD-trained data science, advanced engineering and frontline NHS clinical leadership. The Patchs leadership team will now take on senior roles within our healthcare innovation unit, accelerating AI-driven innovation and measurable impact across the wider health portfolio.

Ric Thompson, SVP of Healthcare at OneAdvanced comments:

AI triage, online consultation and the intelligent use of data are now essential to solving the NHS’s access and workload challenges. With Patchs joining OneAdvanced, we become the only UK provider able to combine these capabilities with national-scale clinical systems and workflow automation. It’s this depth of integrated data and technology that puts OneAdvanced in an unrivalled position to support the NHS to deliver upon the ambition of the 10-year plan through a single, intelligence-led platform.”

Patchs Health retains strong academic research partnerships with The University of Manchester and The University of Cambridge, where they are currently conducting the largest ever evaluation of AI in UK primary care, funded by the NIHR. At OneAdvanced, we will further build on these crucial academic partnerships to accelerate translational AI research into practical tools for clinicians and NHS operational teams.

The coming together of Patchs Health and OneAdvanced will bring immediate benefits to both healthcare providers and patients. By combining Patchs’ AI innovation and academic research heritage with OneAdvanced’s established clinical systems and national reach, we will accelerate the delivery of more efficient, intelligent and patient-centred servicesMarcus Ong PhD FIMA, CEO of Patchs Health commented.

He adds “Patchs was developed to help clinicians focus their time where it matters most, and this acquisition allows us to extend that impact across thousands of practices - underpinned by trusted, secure technology that meets recognised industry and compliance standards, ensuring patient safety is at its core. Together, we’re in a strong position to drive the next phase of AI-led transformation in primary care at a time when demand and pressure are at their greatest.

Patchs GP Online Consultation with AI is already being used by practices nationwide, boosting GP productivity by 75% and reducing workloads by 43%, whilst providing faster and more equitable access for patients evidenced through a patient satisfaction score of 4.5/5.0 according to Trustpilot.
