World AI Week falls on the 7th – 11th October 2024, originating from an associated AI summit in Amsterdam. The world of AI is rapidly evolving, with far-reaching impacts on everything from healthcare to manufacturing, education to art. It’s changing the world of work, and OneAdvanced’s dedicated team of product designers and developers are making sure its transformative and innovative effects are heading straight to our customers...
To celebrate World AI week, we wanted to focus on a new feature that is harnessing the power of AI. AI assisted feedback has been introduced to Performance & Talent, our continuous performance management software. But what does this mean, and how can it help you?
What does Performance & Talent already do?
Performance & Talent is OneAdvanced’s performance management software. It helps accelerate the performance and development of people across an organisation, by offering tools to set and manage effective goals, give and receive instant feedback and have frequent, meaningful conversations.
What challenges does AI assisted feedback look to solve?
Using Performance & Talent, an employee can leave feedback for any other employee within the organisation. They can send comments on what they believe a colleague has done well, or could do better, via an easy-to-use software platform. Comments will be sent to the recipient and stored in their personal feedback record. This opens opportunities to learn from both positive and constructive feedback, helps create a positive, constructive work environment and gives managers a full view of employee performance, taking in multiple viewpoints.
However, it isn’t always easy to know what to write in employee feedback. You may have an idea of what you want to say, but not how to say it, especially if English is not your first language or you are not a confident written communicator. People may also struggle with spelling, for example if they are dyslexic. All these can be barriers to using the employee feedback function, meaning businesses are missing out on the transformative potential of mutual feedback exchanged between colleagues.
What does AI assisted feedback do?
Employees can write down what they want to say in a draft form – with spelling mistakes, raw, how it “pops into their head”. They can then click the ‘Draft with AI’ button, and the technology will provide an alternative way of phrasing the feedback. This alternative will keep the colloquial, human touch of feedback, whilst making sure it is clear, well-articulated and spelled correctly. Bullet point thoughts become coherent content, whilst retaining a personal touch.
By making the ability to leave feedback quick and easy, this feature will encourage more employees to make use of Performance & Talent’s feedback function. This will drive a culture where feedback is freely given and therefore learning and professional development is turbocharged.
AI-assisted feedback shortens the time taken to give feedback by approximately 17 seconds per submission, accumulating over a year to save an organisation 13 hours.
We all know AI can save time and improve productivity. This World AI Day, we wanted to also note how it can empower your people and improve human-to-human connections. Our AI-assisted feedback feature is just one example of this!
